Bee is becoming so independent. Now that she's a toddler, she really likes to do things on her own. It's a such a treat to see her turning into a real kid. The snapshots above demonstrate just a few of her interests:

1. Every day we read heaps of books, but I'm always tickled when she sits down and looks through them by herself. 
2. She used to hate it when I tried to put shoes on her feet. Now, whenever she sees me holding her shoes, she picks her feet up as if to say "Put 'em on me, so I can go!".
3. Bee loves to gaze out the window, watch the birds fly by, and marvel at the trees and clouds. She especially enjoys watching raindrops fall down the windowpane... Everything new that she sees is fascinating to her (and us)!

I have always wanted a dog. When I was a baby, we had one... A cairn terrier named Buffy. To my surprise, we were blessed with a new puppy about 5 months ago.

Continuing with the "B" theme, our new puppy is actually Baby Bee. I thought only puppies ate shoes! Truly, she chews on everything. Ah, the glories of teething!

My Little Bee

Welcome to Abeille! I dedicate this first post to my baby girl, who inspired me to write this blog.  While learning the ropes as a first-time mom, I looked online for support and encouragement. I discovered some great blogs, most notably  A Cup of Jo, which always gave me a positive place to go for honest discussion about the highs and lows of motherhood.  

Now, I didn't only just want to read about being a mother... I also wanted to find out what was going on in fashion, literature, art, photography, and food.  There are heaps of great blogs out there, and instead of just reading blogs, I thought, why don't I start one? So, after several months of thinking about it, here's my mine, Abeille.
